Eric Marshall

The Brewmaster/Founder

Eric Marshall a fourth generation Tulsan with a degree in International Business and German language from the University of Tulsa. Eric left Tulsa in 2004 to study the art of brewing in Munich, Germany where he was awarded the prestigious International Diploma in Brewing Technology from the World Brewing Academy. He apprenticed in multiple breweries throughout Germany and served as a brewer at the Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.

In 2007, Eric returned to Tulsa to begin laying the groundwork for his own brewery. Marshall Brewing Company, Tulsa’s first production craft microbrewery, which began operations in spring 2008. Marshall Brewing Company focuses on brewing full strength, hand crafted, top quality ales and lagers. Its business is based upon creating fine products with basic inputs – old-world knowledge and experience, high quality raw materials and good old-fashioned hard work. Marshall Brewing Company’s goal is to bring the art, quality, and enjoyment of craft brewing to Oklahoma.


Adam Marshall

Vice President/Lead Counsel

Adam Marshall works behind the scenes at Marshall making sure that we are compliant with regulatory agencies and is a key strategic advisor. By day, Adam is a practicing attorney at Barrow Grimm. By night, he is a husband, father, brother, brother-in-law and chief chicken deboner. Little known fact: Adam can brew beer. Well known fact: Adam is a repository of all things nerd.


Wes “The Godfather” Alexander

Sales & Other Fun Things

The oldest member of the team or “The Godfather” as he is commonly referred to around the brewery, Wes is a self-proclaimed refugee from selling things less important than beer. As a native Tulsan, Wes’ connection to the Marshall family runs back decades. His love of craft beer, however, is more recent. Introduced to craft beer by the Marshall family in the early 2000’s, Wes has since developed a passion for spreading craft beer and the culture it brings. Need advice on pairing food and beer? Wes is our resident expert and hobby chef.


Tim “Chief” Brophy


Tim has been working at Marshall Brewing since it was a mere concept. After volunteering to help friend Eric during startup, Tim was brought on in January of 2009 as the first brewhouse employee. Even though Tim currently juggles tasks such as equipment maintenance, quality assurance, research & development, and brewery expansion, he is firmly grounded in the art of sweeping, keg cleaning and general brewing assistance. Nothing makes Tim happier than the smell of freshly mashed McNellie’s Pub Ale or freshly bottled Old Pavilion Pilsner. Tim is lucky enough to pursue two passions as he also works for the Tulsa Fire Department.


Taylor “Hardwood” Owens

Lead Brewer

The embodiment of “Country” at the brewery, Taylor grew up ‘round the back roads of Tulsa. After a failed music career Taylor made the move to craft beer, where he reunited with former bandmate Eric Marshall. With a reunion out of the question, Taylor began his brewing career with Marshall Brewing in October of 2009. The brewhouse is often filled with the sounds of Taylor’s inspirational playlists, from Disney to Devin, there is no shortage of good vibes…which translate to great beer!


Lucas “Greenhorn” Dewell


Lucas was born in Tulsa. OSU grad. Wildman!

Brewer/Firkin Master

Need to now haw many ounces of Rosemary to add to a firkin for optimal flavor and balance? Ben is your guy. Ben, or “Zac the Engineer” to some of us, joined Marshall as a Brewer in January 2015.  Ben likes turkey sandwiches and being caught in the rain.


Alex “Skeeter“ Gardner


Alex can be found most days sporting a sweet stache and a smile at the brewery. Truly a nice guy, Alex brought his passion for craft beer to the brewery in 2015 and is comfortable in all phases of production. Knowledgeable, dependable and easy-going Alex is a great addition to the Marshall team!


Kyle Johnson

Tap Room Manager

Come and visit our tap room and chances are Kyle will be there to pour you a pint and fill your growler. His love for the craft beer community runs deep, with 10+ years experience in restaurants, distribution, marketing, and sales in the business. When he’s not planning tap room events or organizing merchandise, you’ll find him relaxing with a This Land Lager or Dunkel and talking about the latest sports news.
